One of the most consolidated and efficient “use of space” campers we have ever owned was our RoadTrek Class B Motorhome. Every space inside was useful for something and sometimes for more than one thing. Something that has become a tradition for us is to take any new camper we acquire to the Florida Keys as it is one of our favorite destinations in the USA. On this trip, we drove the RoadTrek from Birmingham south until we ran out of road.

Use of Space

If you look closely at the photo above, you can see some of the ways RoadTrek has made efficient use of space throughout the camper. For example, I am standing in a shower pan that has a drain through the floor. Above my head is the track for the shower curtain that pulls out from behind the mirror on my left and completely encloses the shower square space. Behind the mirror is also the toilet. The shower curtain keeps all the cabinets from getting wet, including the television cabinet that is behind me.
The television was not a flat panel like we have today, but it was hidden behind the “roll top” wood panel. To watch the television, you simply slid up the panel and pulled out the television shelf/drawer. Once pulled out, the television could be rotated to face either the bedroom, or the front cab which had rotating driver and passenger seats.
In the photo below, you can see the window blinds that slid up and down on tracks to keep them in place and virtually hidden in plain sight.

Camping in the Keys
As I said before, the Keys are one of our favorite places to visit in the USA. We love camping there, when we can get a spot. Back when we took this trip, grabbing a spot was not as difficult as it is today. We have stayed at John Pennekamp and Bahia Honda State Parks several times and both are very nice. I believe the site below is Bahia Honda. Snorkeling is always great right off the beach and the temps are, too.
